Hawkshead Tap Takeover: Key Lime Tau Lanch Party
28 June 2023 All day
We are taking part in pouring the Key Lime Tau by Hawkshead Brewery!
Key Lime Tau – Kettle Soured, Lactose infused Golden Ale – 6.28%
First brewed in collaboration with Crooked Stave for the first International Rainbow Project, 2015.
A kettle-soured, lactose infused golden ale brewed with fresh lime zest and lemon grass to taste biscuity and strongly of lime…. just like key lime pie!
Hawkshead call it Key Lime Tai, because of doubling up – it was a collab between two brewers, has been brewed on both sides of the Atlantic and Tau is 2x Pi (3.142) which is also the strength, 6.28%…. Simple really!
Seeing as we Key Lime Tau is on the bar, we thought we would throw a couple of extra Hawkshead beers on the bar! We will also have:
– Hawkshead Bitter / Thirsty Duck Bitter (cask)
– Hawkshead Red (Cask)
– Windermere Pale (Cask)
– Rookie’s [Re]Turn (Keg)
Rookie’s [Re]Turn – West Coast IPA 5.6%
‘You asked, we rebrewed with a slight tweak to the recipe to make the beer even better’ – Hawkshead
A pale malt base with oat and carpils to give a velvety texture, allowing the generous variety of hops to take the reins. Golden orange in colour with a bitter and piney body followed by heaps of dry hopping of Sabro, Mosaic and Simcoe to give a complex juicy and fruity hit of an aroma. Waves of coconut and tropical fruit flavours with a dank, spiced piney finish.
All will be available from 28th June from 3pm
